The Emergency Carers Support Service

The Emergency Carers Support Service is a 24 hour service provided by A4e in partnership with Oxfordshire County Council and has been designed to give peace of mind to carers who provide substantial, regular unpaid care to other adults living in Oxfordshire.

The person that you care for could be a relative, friend or neighbour who needs support due to a disability, illness or frailty. As a carer, you may or may not be living with the person that you care for but you can still register for this service.

The Emergency Carers Support Service is completely free of charge and in the event of an emergency, we are able to contact a nominated person suggested by you at the time of registration or there is the opportunity to access free replacement care by qualified and professional emergency carers. This replacement care can be provided within an hour of receiving an emergency call. The emergency carer will be available to remain within the home setting for a maximum of 48 hours in an emergency and 72 hours in exceptional circumstances.
